AREA NYC is a biannual publication and event series that inquires into the practices and conditions of current social, political and cultural movements in New York City. We hope to bring together multiple experiences of social change as well as dialogue with the many existing forces, both visible and invisible, that combine to make an Other New York City.

In an attempt to foster, invest and and support streams of communication between area struggles, we aim to illuminate the many dimensions of daily life in which resilience and dignity combine with creativity, skill, and knowledges - in short, ways of living in this city that build on our power and will-to-change.
